Bowen therapy

Bowen Therapy is a holistic and multidimensional approach to pain relief and healing that intends to treat the underlying cause or source of many musculoskeletal, neurological, neuromuscular and other health or pain problems by working specifically on fascia. Fascia is a specific type of connective tissue that forms a three dimensional web surrounding every tissue and structure in the body. Therefore fascial dysfunction and dehydration can affect every structure, bone, muscle, tendon, ligament, nerve and organ in the body.

Find out if this is right for you

Recent studies have shown fascia to be the largest sensory organ in the body. It’s rich range of receptors powerfully influence the body’s neuro-muscular physiology in many complex ways. Through specific soft tissue or fascial release and integration techniques, Bowen therapy stimulates specific receptors that enable the body itself to correct dysfunctions and restore homeostasis (balance) on a holistic level. Bowen Therapy treats the whole body as evidenced by the experiences of people who find resolution to problems above and beyond those for which they have sought treatment. PROGRAMS

We have programs that focus on pain relief, injury recovery, stress relief, enhancing fitness, addressing anxiety and anti-aging.

At our Health Chat you can discuss which of our programs best fits your need.

We recommend you complete the whole of one of our programs to achieve the optimal outcome. These therapies work best and elicit greater change on the body’s physiology when done in a consistent and methodical way.

To really achieve a difference in your health, you will need to commit to 2-3 sessions per week.

We realise that each of our programs involves a significant financial commitment. While we encourage people to book all of their sessions and pay for the program up front, we do accept sessional payments. For details of the cost of our programs click here.

While insurance companies all support the concept of wellness and wellbeing, they have a limited number of therapies that they will cover to achieve this: acupuncture and remedial massage are the only aspects of the programs that are covered.

If you decide to do one of our programs you will, subject to availability, have unlimited access to the infrared sauna and PEMF that relate to your program.

These therapies include one or more of the following: PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field therapy), far infra-red saunas and intermittent hypoxic therapy. Ring and ask to speak to our wellness consultant and she will guide you to the therapy or therapies of most benefit to you.

While we recommend people attend three sessions per week, we recognise this may not be possible for everyone. We encourage you to think seriously about what your priorities are and how you can manage your commitments prior to beginning the program. We have had some clients who have derived benefit from doing two sessions per week as this is all they are able to commit to. The gains may be slower to perceive and are different for every individual.

The best time to start the program is when you are able to make the personal commitment to yourself to complete the program and you are ready to attend to the aspects of your wellbeing that are important to you. The wellness consultants are here to support you through wellness coaching and facilitation of the therapies. Your role is to be present, aware and committed to the process.

Yes. All therapies available at WoW can be accessed individually and plans are available for the Infrared Saunas, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy and Intermittent Hypoxic Therapy.
